Discover the power of the avant-garde movement through “Two Heads”, a 1925 aquatint on paper by esteemed Estonian artist Hando Mugasto. This print, measuring 18.5 x 16.5, was exhibited at the end of the Pallas Art School and is now a prized exhibit at the State Museum of Estonia. As a student of E. Viiralt and A. Vabbe at the “Pallas” Art School, Mugasto’s early work encompassed cubist and impressionist styles. Over time, he gained recognition for his varied output, including xylographs, book-plates, posters, and still life’s. This artwork is a testament to his evolving style and talent. It also marks a key point in his career, leading up to his Grand Prix award at the 1937 Paris World Fair.
