This exquisite oil on canvas titled “Forgotten Violin” was painted in 1987 by the renowned Leningrad artist Anatoli Vassiljevitš Mikrjukov. Measuring 89 x 74, the artwork is distinctly signed in the upper right as A. Микрюков 87. The reverse side of the canvas bears the details “Микрюков A.B. 1934. Назв. Забытая скрипка х. м. 87 x 74 1987”. Anatoli Mikrjukov is a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists and an esteemed graduate of the Russian Academy of Arts (1963-1969) under the mentorship of head professor I. Serebrjanoi. He has also imparted his knowledge by teaching at the Leningrad Pedagogical Institute. A.I. Herzen. Mikrjukov has showcased his talent at all-Russian, all-union, and international exhibitions. His masterpieces are displayed in prominent museums in Russia and the USA, and are also a part of private collections worldwide. “Forgotten Violin” is a testament to his skill, portraying the intricate interplay of candlelight against a dark backdrop in an enclosed space.
