Maaser, Eduard (1916 – 1990). Kind on Kunda. (1943)

This stunning watercolor piece titled “Kind on Kunda” was created by Eduard Maaser in 1943. Measuring 49.8 x 69 cm, the artwork is marked lower right with “Ed. Maaser Kundas, 10. X 1943”. Born in Russia in 1916 and later settling in Tartu, where he died in 1990, Maaser was a prominent artist with an extensive education in painting. He graduated from the Tartu State Art Institute and made significant contributions to art, mainly focusing on watercolors. His works capture the essence of southern Estonia, and his legacy continues through various exhibitions. This particular piece represents his time studying under the guidance of teachers at Pallas at the Tartu State Art Institute.
