Lokk, Artur. (1928-1996). Metsane jõekallas. (1981)

Artur Lokk (1928-1996), a renowned Estonian artist, has significantly influenced the art scene in Tartu. His work, “Metsane jõekallas” (1981), is a beautiful oil on cardboard painting, measuring 39 x 48 cm. The signature “A. Lokk 81” can be found at the bottom right of the artwork. Lokk graduated from the Tartu State Art Institute in 1951 and his influence on Tartu’s art exhibitions is undeniable. Like many artists from Tartu, his work often features views of Southern Estonia.
