This remarkable graphic piece by the esteemed artist Alex Kütt, created in the 1950s, offers a vivid and captivating depiction of the subject “Pig.” It measures 19.5 x 31cm and showcases Kütt’s innovative experimentation with various engraving techniques, including electro-colour gravure printing and graphic hot techniques. Alex Kütt, known for portraying fishermen, industrial motifs, landscapes, sports, and war, graduated from the Tallinn State Institute of Applied Arts in 1949. He went on to teach at the Art Academy of Estonia’s Department of Drawing and Graphics from 1949 to 1985. This work, marked “Siga” on the lower left and signed A.Kütt on the lower right, embodies the transition in his art style during the second half of the 1960s, where imagination and decorative flair became more prominent.
