Anatoli Strahhov: A Balance Between Tradition and Experimentation

Anatoli Strahhov (b. 1946) is a renowned artist, collector, and jeweler. His work, characterized by the virtuosic creation of different materials and textures, balances between conservatism and experimentation, tradition and exoticism, expressive materiality and ephemeral boundaries. Strahhov studied at the Tshinvali Art School from 1963 to 1967 and at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute from 1971 to 1976. He lives and works in Tallinn and is a member of the Estonian Artists’ Union and the Estonian Russian Artists’ Association. He has been exhibiting in national and international exhibitions since 1975. His annual solo exhibitions have been held in both Estonian and foreign galleries and exhibition halls. His works are in private collections in the USA, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Estonia. He has participated in more than 30 solo and group exhibitions.
