Outstanding artist Erik Haamer’s charcoal masterpiece titled “Haamer Eerik (1908-1994). The Rocks. (Early 1980s)” is a vivid testament to his skill and artistry. Measuring 64,1 x 46 cm and signed “Haamer” on the lower left, this piece bears the unique mark “pihlakaoks kobaraga” on the reverse. A graduate of Maximum Art School “Pallas” in 1935, Haamer went on to teach painting, drawing, and anatomy at the Tallinn School of Applied Arts (1941-44). After immigrating to Sweden in 1944, he continued to create large figurative compositions and even illustrated “Kalevipoeg.” His works are available in numerous museums worldwide.
