The outstanding painter Eerik Haamer completed his studies at “Pallas” under the supervision of N. Triig in 1935. He worked as a teacher of painting, drawing and anatomy at the Tallinn School of Applied Arts from 1941 to 1944. In 1944 he emigrated to Sweden, where he worked as a freelance artist for most of his life until his death in 1994. He painted figure compositions and illustrated “Kalevipoeg”. E. Haamer’s works are in several museums and exhibitions in many countries.

The lithograph is printed after E. Haamer’s painting “Children’s Party” (1975). It conveys the originality and mastery of Haamer’s drawing well; the combination of colors, which is different from print to print, is successful. The humanity and gentle humor of Haamer’s art come to the fore here.
