Born in Nehatu manor, von Bochmann gained his artistry skills between 1868-71 at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts. Following his studies, he worked as a liberal painter until 1895, when he was promoted to a professor of the academy. His work, admired in Germany and worldwide, is synonymous with the masterful Düsseldorf School of Art. Von Bochmann’s art has featured in numerous exhibitions across Düsseldorf, Munich, Vienna, Dresden, and Berlin. He has been bestowed with many awards recognizing his artistic prowess.
