Arrak Henno (1930 – 2017). Theatre “Estonia” (1967)

Engraving by Henno Arrak, a renowned graphic designer born in Tallinn in 1930. This 13 x 22.9cm engraving on paper, titled “Theatre Estonia” (1967), is marked with “Puugravüür, 39/100” on the lower left and signed “H.Arrak 1967” on the lower right. Arrak, who graduated from ERKI in 1963 with a degree in book graphics, is well known for his expressive illustrations that emphasize the unique drama and characters within the depicted situations. His works, such as the illustrations for R. Sirge’s “Earth and People,” have gained considerable recognition.
