Aavik Priidu (1905 – 1991). Three Nymphs. (1982)
€380
Felt pen on chalk paper captures the stunning vision of Priidu Aavik in “Three Nymphs” (1982). Measuring 23.1 x 20, this piece, signed lower left “Abistajad I” and lower right by the artist in ’82, is a testament to Aavik’s innovative use of felt-tip pen. This technique allowed him to create compositional designs that stand alone as independent works. Trained in A.Lajkmaa’s studio, Aavik studied at Art School “Pallas” and furthered his art education in Paris. A member of Art society “Pallas” and an influential figure in Estonian art, he has left an indelible mark on the art world.
